Trains, tracks, and derailments..

Derailed - audio cd - 6 hours.

Derailed - the movie - 2 hours.

The Train - Bollywood version of Derailed - 3 hours.

Could have used all that time to learn a new programming language - shameless.

In the desi version of the movie, the car that is disposed off of into the river bears a license plate which is:

SLK AMG???? Hahahahaha.
Is that a co-incidence, or was that on purpose???

Cool is in the eye of the beholder?

The Civic. Once again, hats off to Honda for doing such a great job at making the Civic so very cool.

Now, the only question I have is why give the U.S. a tamed down (looks-wise only) version of the Civic?

On my trip back home to India, I saw the Civic floating around the streets of Aapli Mumbai. And DANG. The Civic there is SO MUCH MORE COOLER than its sister here in the U.S. The most significant difference I found was the lights, and front and back treatment.

Heres the Civic sold in the U.S. from the front:
Ho-hum.

And heres a Civic sold in India from the front:

Disregard the runway - slightly over-optimistic. But the front here is so much cooler! I'd say the other one is comparatively border-line lame.

Heres the back view:

Any guesses which Civic belongs where?

Ohh forget these minor differences. What about the Civic in Europe?!! That one is the best of the lot! Its awesomely cool! Perhaps its too flashy for mass appeal here in the U.S. so they didn't bring it here. But, man, look at it:

Dad dilemma

So, I was in India for the month of May, enjoying the summer chillin' at home with yummy alphonso mango mango! It was the post-lunch lull of the day.. And we were idling in front of the TV. Mom was watching some Marathi movie about something. And I was in a constant-crib mode to accelerate channel changing. The movie kept playing, apparently my cribbing effort going completely waste.

Now, as we watched the movie, there was the usual family, with the slightly older parents, working son, and newly wed wife, their problems, etc. Then, a scene came up, in which the father and mother are sitting and discussing something. Apparently, mom, who was in total control of the remote, got bored with it, and she, thankfully, changed the channel. After a couple of minutes of surfing, we came back to the movie. Now, the tv-family apparently were in the rush of meeting the daily morning schedule. Everything seemed as usual, nothing out of the ordinary.. Then.. then we noticed it.. the actor playing the father had changed... We were like.. Hmmm.. thats interesting.. This new guy looked nearly the same as the other guy.. We thought, he is probably the uncle who dropped by or something.. So, we sat back.. But then, they called him "dad". The lady talked to him in a way that a wife talks to her husband. We were like.. Ummm.. What?! Later, the son meets with an accident and is in the hospital. The parents leave for the hospital.. When the scene cuts to the hospital, the first guy has come back, and he is playing the father now! WHAT?!

As we continued to watch this saga of mystery, the father kept switching between the 2 guys!!! OMG! That was so hilarious! We were glued to the TV, not to see what happens in the story, but to see and/or understand why they were switching the father! At the end the credits rolled, and thats it... One mystery thats going to be unsolved forever!
